PAMS Students Make Anti-Bullying Pledge on Unity Day

Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of difference, and inclusion. It was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.

PAMS students celebrated by holding anti-bullying gatherings during lunch and signing an anti-bullying pledge poster.

A special thank you goes out to the Wasco Pizza Factory for their generous donation of a Buddy Bench to promote unity and encourage a sense of community at PAMS.

    Local Vets Share at PAMS

Local veterans from VFW Post 6742, as well as a current soldier recently visited Palm Avenue Middle School Honors History class. The students are writing a Patriot Pen essay and the topic is "What makes America great?" The soldiers shared their experiences in the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and one Army Reserve was deployed after 9-11, when he was 47 years old. These men are great examples of what makes America Great! Thank you to Danny Rueda, Steve Davis, James Medrano, and Thomas Kelley for teaching us what freedom really is.

    PAMS Hosts Local Author

Palm Avenue ELA students had the privilege of hosting an Author Talk with Sarah Stewart. Stewart is the author of several fantasy books, including Prey and Maelstrom. Students got to learn how she got her start and more about the creative writing process.
