    PAMS Students Make Anti-Bullying Pledge on Unity Day

    Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of difference, and inclusion. It was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.

    PAMS students celebrated by holding anti-bullying gatherings during lunch and signing an anti-bullying pledge poster.

     

    A special thank you goes out to the Wasco Pizza Factory for their generous donation of a Buddy Bench to promote unity and encourage a sense of community at PAMS.

    Local Vets Share at PAMS

    Local veterans from VFW Post 6742, as well as a current soldier recently visited Palm Avenue Middle School Honors History class. The students are writing a Patriot Pen essay and the topic is "What makes America great?" The soldiers shared their experiences in the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and one Army Reserve was deployed after 9-11, when he was 47 years old. These men are great examples of what makes America Great! Thank you to Danny Rueda, Steve Davis, James Medrano, and Thomas Kelley for teaching us what freedom really is.

    PAMS Hosts Local Author

    Palm Avenue ELA students had the privilege of hosting an Author Talk with Sarah Stewart. Stewart is the author of several fantasy books, including Prey and Maelstrom. Students got to learn how she got her start and more about the creative writing process.

    7th & 8th Grade - Testing Day Schedule 

    6th Grade - Regular Schedule 

     

    Students

    1. CAASPP Interim Testing will continue through Tuesday of this week. You will continue to be on a testing bell schedule till then. Let’s make sure we continue to have effort above all! AND remember that there are several prizes you can win such as a Chromebook, school gear, end of year trip tickets, yearbooks, panther bucks, front of the line passes, and much more. Just show up, work hard, and give it all the effort you can to get raffle tickets to enter and win! 

    2. Winter Sports for Basketball and Soccer Schedules have been released. They will be posted on our school website. Let’s support our Basketball and Soccer teams!

    3. This weeks winter sports practice schedule is as follows:

      1. JV Girls Basketball - Mon 3:00-4:30, Wed 2:30-4:00, Thur 3:00-4:30

      2. Varsity Girls Basketball - Mon 3-4:30, Tue 3-4:30, Wed 3:30-5:00, Thur 3-4:30

      3. JV Boys Basketball - Monday through Friday 4:30-6:00

      4. Varsity Boys Basketball - Monday through Friday 6:00-7:30

      5. Girls Soccer - Mon 3:05-4:10, Tue 3:05-4:10, Thur 3:05-4:10

      6. Boys Soccer - Mon 3-4:30, Tue 3-4:30, Wed 2:30-4, Thur 3-4:30

    4. Panther of the Month Celebration for the month of November will be this Friday at 10:47 PM in the cafeteria. Students will receive an invitation later week. You will need your invitation to participate.  

    5. Bible Club meets every Wednesday in Room 34 at 7:30am. Come and join us in fellowship.

    6. Intramural soccer sign ups are now available through our school website. Sign up now if interested. 

    7. Saturday School is this Saturday @ TJ in the cafeteria from 8am-12pm. Sign-ups are in the office. If you have active referrals or attendance to make up please sign up TODAY! 

    8. Volleyball awards ceremony will take place TODAY in the cafeteria at 3:15pm.
