Honor Flight Campaign a Huge Success!

Panthers! Our Honor Flight campaign was a true success. A special shout out to Mr. Holmes for bringing this awesome idea to our school and for making it a reality. We raised a little over $1,800 and we received many contributions from other schools and our community. As many of you may already know, Honor Flight of Kern County honors and sends America's veterans to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor for their service to our country. And yes, with the help of all of us, teachers, staff, and students we will be sending a veteran to Washington D.C. Let us learn that our education here at Palm Avenue Middle School is grounded not only in Academics but in the Character and Leadership. This is a perfect example of us having Character and Leadership to build community. Congrats Panthers in making this Honor Flight happen!

    Panther 3rd Quarter Academic Challenge!

Kern County Superintendent of Schools makes the recommendation for schools to extend closures through at least Friday, May 1, 2020, amid statewide stay-at-home orders

March 25, 2020 — In consultation with Kern County Public Health, and in light of Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-33-20, which directs “all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of the federal critical infrastructure sectors,” Kern County Superintendent of Schools Mary C. Barlow has announced her recommendation to Kern County’s 47 school districts to extend closures of all public schools through at least Friday, May 1, 2020, to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

Wasco Schools will be close through May 4, 2020

    • Schools will continue to deliver high-quality educational opportunities to students, to the extent feasible, through distance learning and/or independent study.
    • Schools will provide meals in non-congregate settings.

Over the past week, Kern County’s 47 school districts have rapidly adapted to the emergency to provide “grab-and-go" meals.

Meal pick up will continue at Teresa Burke and James A. Forrest Elementary schools, Monday- Friday, 10:30-12:30.

We will continue to provide updates via email, auto-dialer and text message as this situation evolves.
